VOLUNTEERS

Would you like to volunteer with the Wolfville Pastoral Charge?  Please call the office at 542-3796 to discuss how you'd like your specific skills put to use.  In the meantime, here are some descriptions of what some of our Sunday morning volunteers do. 

Coffee Time
This person is responsible for having coffee, cups, milk, & sugar etc. ready by the end of the worship service on Sunday mornings.  Easy instructions for making the coffee, and where to find things, are posted on the bulletin board in the Kitchenette.  Coffee, milk, sugar, etc. are supplied by the church.

Ushers
Ushers are in charge of passing the collection plates during the offering, assisting the Minister if necessary, turning off the sanctuary and fireside room lights after everyone has left, and ensuring the main sanctuary door is locked and that the back sanctuary door (ramp entrance) is closed.  This person is also asked to be ready to act in case of an emergency.

Greeters
Welcome people at the door, distribute bulletins, and assist the Ushers with the collection.  This person is asked to watch out for new visitors and help them out with any questions they might have.  Greeters also liaise with the minister with information related to pastoral care (i.e. someone is new, or there's an illness in the family, etc.). 

Readers
Let us know you would like to be this Sunday reader.  You will be sent the passage that the Minister would like you to read several days in advance by email or it will be available at the church office for pick-up on Fridays.

Other Ways to Volunteer
There are so many ways you could volunteer including:  joining a committee, helping out at a UCW-sponsored event, organizing a fundraiser, knitting a prayer shawl, folding bulletins, helping with mail-outs, cooking something for Break-Away dinners, giving a talk about your latest adventure, participating in a book-study group, taking minutes at a church meeting, representing us at Presbytery, manning the BBQ at one of our outdoor functions, helping Robyn with the projector, and more!  Call 542-3796 and find out how you can get involved!
